It’s been forever.

How long has it actually been since I last writing down my musings here? Dunno. Dun care. Anyways, I just got a PSP-2000 (Slim/Lite) this past week. My mom gave it to me as a form of advanced Christmas present I suppose. Anyways, the PSP is cool… IF you have custom firmware (which unfortunately for me, I didn’t… well at least for the first 4 days). It really helps if you have a lil knowledge about this stuff stuff, coz you’ll be down in a rut if you didn’t. OR, you’d have to pay Php1,000.00 more or less to get an m33 firmware on your handheld (which is a total rip-off). A lil bit of advice to gamers out there, try to educate yourselves about the console you’re using/thinking about buying.

I read somewhere last month about Sony’s launch of the PSP-3000, which was supposed to have a better resolution or brighter lcd. Didn’t really care much for it. Anywho, the 3000 series is armed with a built-in microphone to make life easier with Skype users. It is also a wee bit slimmer that the 2000. I tried my hands on my friend’s 3000 the other day and it just didn’t feel right. For me, it felt kinda flimsy almost. What sucks more is that you’re stuck with UMDs coz hackers are still trying to figure out how to create a custom firmware for the 3000. The only thing that separates the 3000 from the 2000 is the built-in microphone… and the inability to store games onto your memory stick. Which again, totally sucks. If you’re a rich kid who’s always ready to splurge, then I suggest you go ahead and get the 3000. But if you’re like me, you’d lean towards practicality and stick to your 2000.  Oh by the way, there’s some buzz that Sony will be releasing a 4000 series by the second quarter of ‘09. What’s next? 5000? 6000? Unless the 4000 series that’s rumored to be released comes equiped with a 5mp camera and better speakers and, I’ll stick to my 2000.

So I guess that ends this totally useless blogpost. Tee hee.
