Many people have been wondering what intellectual masturbation really means. Since my friendster shoutout reads “I like to masturbate… intellectually”, they’ve gotten curious about what it really is. Is it just like normal masturbation, but use your mind instead of your hands? Noo, that’s just whacked up man.
Intellectual masturbation pertains to fascinating intellectual breakthroughs regarding reality, language, existence, knowledge, perception, or human behavior which are completely unprovable and utterly without use, and therefore of no real consequence to anyone.
It is the mental counterpart to masturbation; i.e. a process that is very pleasurable but hasn’t accomplished anything at the end.
